With its title acting as a promise, Confession Publique explores ambiguity and paradox, examining the noble and the vulgar, oscillating between grace and brutality. Choreographer Mélanie Demers makes her faithful collaborator, Angélique Willkie, her muse. Together, these two creative kindred spirits delve into the act of self-telling without modesty. The result is a hard-hitting solo, where anecdotes become painful secrets, and the body reveals as much, if not more, than words.

The trust that emerges from the profound encounter between these two artists allows for a total unveiling, a courageous exposure. On stage, Willkie, the raw material of the show, cannot escape our gaze. Beside her, an enigmatic presence, sometimes devoted, sometimes hostile, manipulates and organizes the space. With her powerful voice and bewitching presence, the performer reveals the beauty and depths of her soul, with strength and fragility.
