Training: Monotype with drypoint and carborundum gel

This workshop explores different ways of combining monotype with drypoint, but also with AKUA carborundum. Participants will create unique prints incorporating all kinds of effects with drypoint, carborundum, silkscreen or cardboard stencils, and AKUA inks. They will explore multiple printing, ghosting and other techniques.

They will also learn some basics, such as adjusting the press, creating a trough in the wet paper, placing the diapers correctly under the press, etc. Participants will work with PTG plates, a flexible Plexiglas that’s easy to cut and engrave. The advantage of this engraving technique is that it is non-toxic and much more environmentally friendly!
