In Histoires abîmées – Collectibles, Wartin Pantois questions the social construction of reality by proposing ” à la carte memories ” made up of archival photographs from which he has usually removed the characters and recomposed the narrative. The products of a nostalgic anticipation yet to be invented, these strange collectible memories can be discovered through repetition and accumulation, echoing the multiplicity of imaginary worlds disseminated and relayed in the post-truth era.
