Brouiller les pistes – Making a digital camera obscura with Renée Forest

Using existing printed images from their personal archives, participants create small three-dimensional scenes using collage, cut-outs and assemblages of visual elements. A homemade camera obscura, built on site during the workshop and equipped with a lens, frosted glass and a focusing mechanism, is then used to photograph these maquettes with a digital camera. The workshop explores a process that is both manual and experimental, where analog bricolage dialogues with digital capture to produce enigmatic, singular images.
