Hares and foxes on a paper forest - Characters and sets for an animated film, Frédérick Tremblay, 2025. Image by Ricardo Savard for Faire un film (2025), a video documentation of Frédérick Tremblay at work on La mort d'une renarde (2026).Lièvres et renards sur forêt de papier is an exhibition featuring a selection of characters and sets from Frédérick Tremblay’s animated short La mort d’une renarde, just completed after three years’ work. These material relics are transposed here in the form of five fixed tableaux which, through a reinterpretation of certain passages from the film, seek to highlight the filmmaker’s tangible labor.
The exhibition will run from December 16, 2025 to January 14, 2026 in the ground-floor showroom of the Gabrielle-Roy Library. At its conclusion, on January 14, 2026 at 7 p.m., a special evening screening will feature Frédérick Tremblay’s three most recent productions, including a working version of La mort d’une renarde (2026).
