SPIRA, la Bande Vidéo and VU invite their members to apply for the Parcours pellicule, an accompanying project in the form of workshops, to be held from March to September 2026.

Objectives
The Parcours pellicule was born out of the desire to create a community around the creation on film by providing a space for sharing knowledge and exploring the medium to its full potential. The residency-like creative context will offer high-quality time for creators. Like an incubator, it will be a place to deepen reflection and advance ideas. For some, it will encourage professionalization; for others, it will consolidate the process.

The project
Seven artists will be introduced to filmmaking through workshops led by Anne-Marie Bouchard. These workshops will cover the creative process and techniques, from camera use and shooting to ecological processing, intervention on the medium and editing techniques. Post-production stages will take place in the form of a creative laboratory at Bande Vidéo. Participants will be able to explode form, whether documentary, experimental or fictional, and will explore the materialitý and performativitý of the medium. Ultimately, each artist will produce a work lasting no more than 8 minutes, which will be presented to the public in a cine-concert format. The films will be accompanied by musical pieces performed live by musicians.

In concrete terms, the project will offer around 120 hours of support with facilitator Anne-Marie Bouchard. All equipment, spaces and facilities will be provided by SPIRA, Bande Vidéo and VU. The cohort will learn about eco-responsible film development. Preparation, shooting, editing and post-production will be carried out by the participants with the support of the facilitator, over a period extending from April to August 2026.

SPIRA would like to thank the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec via the Programme de partenariat territorial de la Ville de Québec, as well as the Caisse d’économie solidaire Desjardins, without whom this initiative would not have been possible.
