Water is at the heart of Carolina Caycedo’s practice, embodying a living, spiritual entity with its own rights. In her long-term project Be Dammed (in progress since 2012), the artist addresses, both from the inside and the outside, persistent issues linked to the mega-dam projects that have shaped the political economies of her native Colombia, as well as other parts of Latin America and the world.
