In Histoires abîmées – Collectibles, Wartin Pantois questions the social construction of reality by proposing “à la carte memories” made up of archival photographs from which he has usually removed the characters and recomposed the narrative. The products of a nostalgic anticipation yet to be invented, these strange collectible memories can be discovered through repetition and accumulation, echoing the multiplicity of imaginary worlds disseminated and relayed in the post-truth era.
