Attend the birthing process of Je me soulève, a collective work created by about twenty young actors from here.
Brought together in a creative laboratory by directors Véronique and Gabrielle Côté to craft a collective piece for one of the country’s major national theatres, these artists spent a year exploring contemporary Québécois poetry with the goal of capturing the “spirit of the times.” What kind of people will we become in the future? How can art help transform the world? Will we still be able to have children?
Driven by the fervor of those who dream of beauty, these artists build an ode to life. And when—plot twist!—one of them is elected to the National Assembly of Québec, poetry is quite literally woven into the political life of the country.
With director Hugo Latulippe in attendance.
