Mois Multi: Nos amarres by Josiane Roberge

Nos amarres is a project initiated in the summer of 2020 during a stay by the artist at her parents’ home. As the onset of her mother’s illness exacerbates her awareness of her body-space, the artist feels the need to explore the discrepancy experienced by placing a common object – the boat – in a territory that is not her own. This then becomes a metaphor for discomfort and quest, staging the strangeness of a self in a state of hyper-vigilance with itself.
