Sous la lisière froide is the construction of a fragile, fluid and dynamic space to reclaim our humanity. For four years, Isabel Archs worked as a front-line nurse in one of Catalonia’s largest hospitals.
This project was born from the need to break the anonymity of the final voice—the one that escapes from beings on the threshold of death. It seeks to reclaim words, give them shape and warmth, and find a way to confront death without taboo. In the times we live in, it becomes a way to protest against fragility.
With Sous la lisière froide, Archs develops a transient visual and sound performance that aims to activate each viewer’s perception of the fact that, no matter who we are or what differences separate us, there is something we will inevitably share.
Barcelona-based musician, photographer and independent music producer Archs is in residence in Quebec City at Avatar Centre, an artist-run center for audio and electronic art, in collaboration with Mois Multi, an international festival of multidisciplinary and electronic arts, as part of a three-year agreement between the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Eufònic Festival.
