Silver film is a sensitive material, just as the soil of a garden is in its own way, reacting not only to light but also to what we put it through. Although this comparison may seem far-fetched, it is by bringing together distinct subjects that Leyla Majeri creates new methodologies, ways of doing things inspired by unprecedented intersections. Her work unfolds through actions set in different ecologies: sometimes in a subsistence garden that she cultivates without irrigation on farmland dried out by the sun and winds, sometimes within a community of artists who experiment together with imaginative approaches to the image, combining self-learning and know-how.
